ABOUT

Karina Feldmann

Karina is a dedicated registered psychologist with a strong passion for supporting children, teens, adolescents, and adults. She uses an empathic, non-judgmental, client-centered approach to create a safe, consistent, and trustworthy therapeutic space where clients feel seen and supported.

In her work with young people, Karina collaborates closely with families to build on existing strengths, enhance resilience, and foster healthier communication between children and their caregivers. She also works alongside schools to advocate for her clients’ emotional well-being and ensure a supportive network across settings.

Karina brings the same core values of empathy and collaboration to her work with adults. While not a family therapist, she is open to offering therapeutic spaces that support reconnection and emotional repair between family members when needed.

She is trained in a range of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), child-centered practices, and Mindfulness. As a trauma-informed practitioner, Karina has a special interest in attachment-focused approaches and neuroscience-informed care. She has also completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a widely recognised, evidence-based therapy for trauma and distressing life experiences.

Additionally, Karina is experienced in various parent-focused programs such as Tuning into Kids (emotion coaching), the Circle of Security (attachment-informed parenting), and Seasons for Growth (support for grief, change, and loss).

Karina is also bilingual in English and Spanish, and is passionate about providing culturally sensitive support to families from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, including Spanish-speaking clients.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Family Studies, with a specialisation in Family Intensive Practice, from the University of Newcastle.
